We implemented Arches for the Florida Public Archaeology Network to build a web database for their Heritage Monitoring Scouts program.

The search page for the Heritage Monitoring Scouts database

Since 2017 we have worked with the Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN) to implement their Heritage Monitoring Scouts program, a citizen science program that facilitates the collection of cultural resource condition assessments by members of the public. We use Arches for this database, and over the years we have added extensions to the underlying software to fit FPAN’s needs. The system not only works as an engagement tool for members of the pubic, but also a central location for state employees to submit condition assessments for archaeological sites, historical structures, and cemeteries on state and federal land.

You can view the HMSF Monitoring Database live at hms.fpan.us.
